Downloads - Version 1.7.4

Introduction

This page contains all of the downloads for version 1.7.4. It should be noted that all of the revisions contained in the main 1.7.4 package and the patches below have been incorporated into version 1.7.5 which is available on the main Downloads page. If you are new to CQ/X you should begin by downloading version 1.7.5.

CD-ROM Availability

The version currently available on CD-ROM is version 1.7.5. If the size (~80MB) of the 1.7.5 download package poses a problem for your connection you can request a CD-ROM version. Send your request to the email address on the Support page.

Main Package Download - Version 1.7.4

Please review the Installation Instructions file prior to downloading the complete package.

Please also note the following:
  1. If you have a previous version of the software please make sure you have saved any log file (CQxClientLogView.log) that you have not finalized since this file will be overwritten during the installation.
  2. If you have a version of the software prior to and including version 1.4 you should uninstall that version before installing 1.7.4. If you have a version later than version 1.4 you can install the new version on top of the old one.
Begin the Download - To begin the download right click on this link CQX Download Package and elect to save the file. The download package is approximately 100MB. The download time will, of course, depend on the speed of your connection.

Patch Downloads for Version 1.7.4


Download Patch 174-01: This patch installs the capability to export the county line crossing data to a KML file for use by Google Maps. Right click on this link Patch_174-01 and elect to save the file to download the patch. Following download unzip the package and follow the instructions in the accompanying PDF file (Patch_174-01.pdf). Following installation read the KML-related topics in the help files. You should also find Post a Route Using Google Maps, which provides a detailed description of the steps required to post on Google Maps, helpful.

Download Patch 174-02: This patch corrects a problem wherein activation of the multi-county logging dialog caused a program crash. It also corrects a problem where the District of Columbia was incorrectly considered a multiplier separate from Maryland in the California QSO Party. Right click on this link Patch_174-02 and elect to save the file to download the patch. Following download unzip the package and follow the instructions in the accompanying PDF file (Patch_174-02.pdf). If your operations include multi-county line QSOs you should review the section of the help file on Running Stations from a Multi-County line.

Download Patch 174-03: This patch corrects problems described in support issues RAD-02 , UIF-01 , and UIF-02. Right click on this link Patch_174-03 and elect to save the file to download the patch. Following download unzip the package and follow the instructions in the accompanying PDF file (Patch_174-03.pdf).

Download Patch 174-04: This patch adds the capability of producing KML files that show countiy boundaries when used with the Google Maps engine -- see examples on the Route Plans page. Right click on this link Patch_174-04 and elect to save the file to download the patch. Following download unzip the package and follow the instructions in the accompanying PDF file (Patch_174-04.pdf).

Download Patch 174-05: This is an important patch that corrects problems reported in support issues GPS-02 and GPS-03. If you plan to operate mobile you need this patch. Right click on this link Patch_174-05  and elect to save the file to download the patch. Following download unzip the package and follow the instructions in the accompanying PDF file (Patch_174-05.pdf).

Download Patch 174-06: This patch adds the Indiana QSO Party to the supported contests. Right click on this link Patch_174-06  and elect to save the file to download the patch. Following download unzip the package and follow the instructions in the accompanying PDF file (Patch_174-06.pdf).

Download Patch 174-07:The main enhancement added in this patch is the capability to assign tasks to the numeric keypad. The patch also addresses the issue of being able to access COM ports with number greater than nine. Right click on this link   Patch_174-07 and elect to save the file to download the patch. Following download unzip the package and read the ReadAbout file. Note that this patch is contained in a setup file which you should run to install the patch. 

Download Patch 174-08:This patch fixes two problems: 1) erratic startup of WinKey often required two startup attempts and 2) under certain conditions Enter key processing would get stuck in the search and pounce state as opposed to the run state. Two minor enhancements are also added: 1) ability to assign a function key or combinations the task of sending a query of the last word entered in the QSO entry window, and 2) ability to assign a function key or combinations the task of sending the next county message (e.g. NEXT MGMY IN ABT 5 MINS). Right click on this link Patch_174-08 and elect to save the file to download the patch. Download Patch 174-09: See revision 174-09 for a description of the changes provided by this patch. Right click on this link Patch_174-09 and elect to save the file to download the patch. Download Patch 174-10: The primary revision provided by this patch is to implement the changes in the Alabama QSO party for 2008. It also provides a fix for a problem with the display of total phone QSOs. Right click on this link Patch_174-10 and elect to save the file to download the patch. Following download unzip the package and read the ReadAbout file. Note that this patch is contained in a setup file which you should run to install the patch. It is recommended, but not mandatory, that you delete the ALQP_Polygons subdirectory prior to installing the patch. This will avoid having a pair of obsolete and unused files for each Alabama county.

Download Patch 174-11: Added an operator notes capability as well as support for the IC-706MKII  and fixed some problems with GPS logging and with CW keyboarding and added an Auto CQ option -- see the revisions page for details. Download Patch 174-12: Removed the ability to assign tasks to the numeric keypad due to problems it was causing with QSO entry and improved the Auto CQ and Send Call While Entering features.
